Malwarebytes Browser Guide for Firefox
Use this free extension to stop yourself landing on malicious websites

It's becoming increasingly easy for a novice user to stumble across a website which looks legit, but if you look more closely, it's obvious to an expert user it's either fake or malicious, designed to scam you or worse. It's far too easy to buy a .com or .co.uk, create a website which looks like a brand and start selling fake or non-existent goods.

Of course, pay by PayPal or your credit card and you're covered, so most people shouldn't worry. But it's still a pain and takes time to resolve. There must be a solution for stopping you from landing on these websites, even accidentally.

Malwarebytes Browser Guard is a simple free extension for Firefox which will work alongside your browser to stop you downloading and installing malicious software, will attempt to block online scams, will offer tracking protection so you can't be tracked across the internet whilst you browse for goods to purchase and protection against clickbait websites, setup to get you to click so the website can make money from your action.

In case Malwarebytes Browser Guard accidentally flags up a website you know is completely safe, you can always add this to the "Allow List" in the settings.

The Malwarebytes Browser Guard claims it can result in pages being loaded up to 3x quicker, but this is because it removes a lot of 'unwanted' content such as ads (which also, we'll add, help pay for the website you are browsing...). We also noticed it blocks RSS feeds and other important content which can provide content to a website. Reviews at this stage are mixed, too, with many users complaining it blocks too many legitimate and even established commercial websites.

What's new in 2.0.2?

- New UI
- Improved detections
- Bug fixes

Verdict:

The question is, do we need yet another extension which helps block malicious websites and kills ads? Also, initial user feedback has stated the extension blocks far too many well-known and commercial websites. So proceed with some caution.

Windows 10 November 2019 Update ISO (build 1909)

Free Full Commercial Software

This is the latest version of Windows May 2019 Update. it's a media creation tool that can be used to upgrade an existing installation of Windows or create installation media for another PC. Just make your choice after launching the tool and it'll do the rest.

What was new in Windows 10, when it was released? The OS brought back the Start Menu, though with a twist: live tiles keep you up-to-date with the latest news while also providing an easy way to launch apps. (Don't worry if you prefer the Start Screen, it's still there and you can boot into it if you prefer.)

Apps now work much more like regular desktop programs. They have minimise, maximise, restore and close buttons, and can be resized (to a degree) and organised however you like.

If you've still lost track of a program in the mass of open windows, a new Task Spaces feature can help. Click its taskbar button and you'll see thumbnails for everything running now, a little like OS X's Mission Control - just click something to switch to it.

Better still, Task Spaces also supports virtual desktops. Add extra desktops as required and it'll display thumbnails of each one, making it easy to identify whatever you're after and switch to it.

There's also smarter snapping, new customisation options, and even a bunch of experimental additions to the command prompt.

November 2019 Update brings a whole host of new features for Windows 10. See the Microsoft Blog for more information.

The Windows 10 ISO will give you build 1090 which is the November 2019 Update.
