KeePass
Enables you to store all your Internet and other passwords within one secure interface

The problem with browsing the Internet is that just about every site seems to require a different password. They say that we shouldn’t use the same password for every site, but it’s tempting. Worse, when we forget our password, we request a reminder by email, so if anyone hacks our email account or can gain access to our email client, then it’s very easy for them to see the password or reminder. Result? If you use a similar password across the Internet, many of your accounts suddenly become vulnerable.

One person recently told me that they use a combination of two words, consisting of the website name, their usual password, plus two numbers. This could work, as long as the website name is fairly familiar and your password follows a consistent trend (so you can remember them, easily).

The other alternative is to use a central password manager that enables you to store all your web passwords, then use one key important password to access the entire database. When you surf the Internet and a site requires your user/pass, all you need to do is log in to the central password manager and it should fill the form information automatically.

KeePass is free and one of the best central password managers. As well as storing your regular web passwords, you could use it to store a digital record of your credit card numbers and other information you use across the Internet. With ultra-strong encryption, there’s no way any hacker will be able to hack in and access your KeePass database, either.

Note that this is the desktop version. There’s a portable version of the Windows version, which you can copy to a USB key and take on the road.

See the changelog for 2.44.0 changes.

Verdict:

Superb free password manager that enables you to store all your passwords, credit card information and important data, within one secure user-interface

Ya know... What if..

This cool Central Password manager that now has Access to ALL your passwords for all your sites as well as all your other important information you gave it the ability to have Credit numbers etc as in the discription... What if someone gets the password to that, in the same way they tend to get passwords... Keyloggers, Password Requests left in your PC, House broken into and the sticky note on your monitor was stolen that had the info on it. OR as in the case of SONY and OTHER notable sites that had Extreme Encryption techniques in use. STILL got hacked, Because NOTHING is unhackable, if it was we would not have a Cyber Defense arm of the government trying to keep China and other countries from getting in. Could be a great program, never tried it, BUT theres always a risk to centralizing your info.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.20.11

Free Full Commercial Software

WhatsApp Messenger is the world's most popular instant messaging app for smartphones.

You can use it to send and receive text and voice messages, photos, videos, even call your friends in other countries, and because it uses your phone's internet connection it might not cost you anything at all (depending on whether you'll pay data charges).

It's easy to set up and use. There's no need to create and remember new account names or pins because it works with your phone number, and uses your regular address book to find and connect you with friends who use WhatsApp already.

You can talk one-to-one or in group chats, and because you're always logged in there's no way to miss messages. Even if your phone is turned off, WhatsApp will save your messages and display them as soon as you're back online.

There's plenty more (location sharing, contact exchange, message broadcasting) and the app is free for a year, currently $0.99/ year afterwards.

What's New in Version 2.20.11

- New privacy settings allow you to control who can add you to groups. Admins will have the option of sending you a private invite instead. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Groups to get started.
- Added call waiting support so you can choose to accept an incoming WhatsApp call while you're already on another call.
- Updated Chats screen design to make it easier to quickly scan your messages.
- You can now send messages directly from the Braille keyboard when using VoiceOver mode.
