If you need to tweak some aspect of Windows then you could hunt around various properties dialogs, Control Panel applets, command line tools and the Registry, looking for the appropriate setting. But it might be easier to just install TweakNow WinSecret 2012, which brings together many of the best Windows tweaks around, and organises them into neat categories so they're generally very easy to find.
Click Windows Secret and choose the Windows Explorer option, for example, and you'll find useful options you can add to the Explorer right-click menu. "Copy to" and "Move to" make it easier to copy and move files, for instance; Command Prompt opens a command prompt window at the selected directory; and Encrypt and Decrypt options let you encrypt or decrypt files or folders in a couple of clicks (as long as your version of Windows supports this).
Are the kids always messing up your PCs settings? TweakNow WinSecret 2012 can limit their access by hiding the hard drives you specify, preventing access to particular Control Panel applets, and disabling their use of sensitive programs like REGEDIT.
If you're more concerned about broadband performance, then take a look at the Network & Internet section. It lets you tweak many essential settings, including Time To Live, SACK, MTU, black hole detection, and more.
And elsewhere are sections to tweak the Windows logon process, your desktop, Start menu, system folder locations, and more. As ever with tweaking tools, it's best to make just one or two changes at a time so you can keep track of what you're doing. But if there are any problems, don't worry - TweakNow WinSecret 2012 always backs up the original Registry settings before it makes any changes. If you realise you've made a mistake, then click Restore Backup, choose the last backup file and any tweaks you made will immediately be reversed.
